by Annie These Are The 7 Most Insane Things You Can Eat In Denver (And Where To Get Them)
There are a lot of strange foods and flavor combinations out there, aren’t there? While I feel somewhat safe in saying that Denver (and Colorado as a whole) has pretty “normal” tastes, there are still a few weird dishes here and there, including:
1.) The Donut That Is Shaped Like a Part of Male Anatomy from Voodoo Doughnuts
Since this is a family site, we will neither name nor show said donut, but just know that if you ever have the desire to sink your teeth into such a thing, it can be found at the delicious, yet politically incorrect Voodoo Doughnut. Speaking of sinking your teeth into male anatomy...
2.) Rocky Mountain Oysters from the Buckhorn Exchange
...Denverites just can't seem to get enough deep-fried cow you-know-whats! While there are countless places in the Mile High City that serves this specialty, we happen to think the best RMOs come from the historic Buckhorn Exchange, which also specializes in...
3.) Combination Game Plates from the Buckhorn Exchange
...elk, quail, deer, hens, buffalo, and other non-traditional meats that are completely normal in the Centennial State.
4.) A GIGANTIC Bowl of Pho from Pho 95
Feeling hungry? You have come to the right place, as Pho 95 serves this hearty portion of pho complete with 200 ounces of broth, 2 pounds of noodles, and 2 pounds of meat! (In case you didn't guess, this is a food challenge, with the winner receiving a comped meal, "winner" t-shirt, and photo displayed for everyone to see!)
5.) The Luther from Crave Real Burgers
The next time you visit one of Crave's 3 Denver-area locations, be sure to opt for the Luther; a fresh burger patty topped with "roasted garlic cream cheese, more garlic, onions, roasted red pepper, and red pepper aioli" served between two Krispy Kreme donut buns. (Hey; don't knock it until you try it!)
6.) Legendary 14er from Beau Jo's Pizza
Look, we love Beau Jo's as much as the next person (if not more), but... 14 pounds of crust, sausage, hamburger and veggies may just be a bit too much. Do YOU think you could conquer this Beau Jo's challenge?
7.) Wagyu at EDGE Restaurant & Bar
What better way to end a list of the most insane foods in Denver than with what is quite possibly the most insane of them all: a Wagyu steak from EDGE. For a mere $200, you can score a 6 ounce, 100% Japanese A5 Wagyu steak, which comes complete with its own certificate of authenticity (that we can only assume you get to take home with you, but do not quote us on that).
