I know that we have been gushing non-stop about summertime in Colorado and all of the fun that comes along with it, but… these high and dry temperatures are KILLING us! Instead of wasting another beautiful day by hiding out in an air-conditioned home, why not consider hopping aboard this Denver-area train that you are guaranteed to love:
Located less than an hour from Denver lies the scenic and unforgettable Georgetown Loop Railroad: a historic Colorado treasure that takes passengers through some of the most pristine areas in the state.
Sadly, in 1938, the last commercial line ran from Denver to Silver Plume, leading to the dismantlement of the railroad until the Georgetown Loop Historic Mining & Railroad Park was formed by the Colorado Historical Society in the 1950s.
Since the area was restored and reopened in 1984, the Georgetown Loop Railroad has delighted guests of all ages with not only their daily rides, but a number of special events like a Hike and Ride, Haunted Forest Train, and even Santa's North Pole Adventures!
The Georgetown Loop Depot is located at 646 Loop Dr. in Georgetown with rates beginning at $25.95 for adults and $18.95 for children (ages 3-15). For more information or to book your ride, please visit the Georgetown Loop’s website.
