If the idea of being transported back in time to an early 20th Century farmstead appeals to you, you will love the beautiful rural setting and wealth of history to be learned at the Agricultural Heritage Center located just outside of Longmont.
As you get ready to explore this stunning site, be prepared to experience, firsthand, how a farm operated in Boulder County from 1900-1925.
Admission is free and guided tours start at 11 a.m. on the days they are open.
Groups, such as schools, can arrange tours year-round.
Upon entering the big red barn, you will find interactive exhibits that allow visitors to learn more about agriculture, Colorado history, food production, and life in the early 1900's.
Kids and adults alike will find hands-on learning opportunities around every corner.
From April through October there are a variety of farm animals on-site that visitors get to see up close.
You can bet on seeing pigs, chickens, sheep, and draft horses while you walk around this historic farmstead.
In addition to the animals, you will encounter two barns, an outhouse, a milk house, and a Blacksmith shop that is in use during special events.
Make sure you take time to walk around the 1909 farmhouse that is furnished with items from that time period.
If you're lucky, you'll also get to actually witness what working on the farm during that time looked like.
You can find this gorgeous farm setting at 8348 Ute Hwy in Longmont, CO 80503.
