A Drone Captured Footage Of Denver During The Pandemic In Colorado

If you live in Colorado, you know that traffic is a constant nightmare and that Centennial State drivers are not the best (a la Some Of The Worst Drivers In The Nation Are Found In Denver, Colorado According To A New Study). While Colorado and its cities are nearly always jam-packed with residents and tourists alike, the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic has turned the Centennial State into a virtual ghost town, as evidenced by this incredible footage from Guerilla Capturing.

No matter the time of day, roads in Colorado typically resemble this photo, but due to the coronavirus pandemic and Governor Polis' stay-at-home orders, our streets now look a little different.

Shot and shared by Guerilla Capturing, this stunning drone footage — titled "The Big Empty" shows Denver unlike no one has ever seen, with the streets virtually empty of both cars and pedestrians.

Shot during the lunchtime hours of March 24th and 26th, 2020, "The Big Empty" shows footage from RiNo, LoHi and Mile High Stadium, as well as other various locations around Denver.

As of this publication, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has confirmed 2,962 positive cases of COVID-19, with 51 deaths caused by the contagious virus.

The first 2 cases of coronavirus in Colorado were reported on March 5th, and soon after, Governor Jared Polis declared a state of emergency, leading to the closure of all schools, restaurants, and "non-essential" business.

On March 26th, Colorado began mandatory stay-at-home orders, which — if abided by — should slow the spread of this unprecedented disease.

The mandatory stay-at-home orders are also the reason for this incredible footage. Keep up the great work, Colorado, and stay healthy!
