Spanning 3.5 miles, the Emerald Lake Trail is a relatively easy Colorado hike that passes through some of the most picturesque scenery that RMNP has to offer.
Like all great Rocky Mountain hikes, the trail winds through lush trees and foliage via an easy-to-follow path, leading to the pièce de résistance: The namesake lake.
As if passing by one beautiful lake wasn't enough, the Emerald Lake Trail winds around several, including Dream, Nymph, and Bear.
Please note: While the Emerald Lake Trail is open year-round, it is best used between June and October when there is less snow and ice along the path.
The Emerald Lake Trail can be accessed via the Bear Lake Trailhead (approximately 9 miles from the turnoff at Highway 36).
