Walk Straight Through A Mountain On This Colorado Cavern Tour
A majority of Colorado is covered in purple mountain Majesties but have you ever wondered what those mountains look like from the inside? There is no need to try to dig a giant hole in the ground to see, but rather take a fascinating tour of the Cave of the Winds:
Located in Manitou Springs, the Cave of the Winds is a millions-year-old cave that was opened to the public in 1881 (but then closed from 1907-1980) and now offers a series of fascinating tours every day.
No matter which tour you choose, you are guaranteed a memorable and educational experience at the Cave of the Winds, beginning with the famous Discovery Tour, a 45 to 60-minute tour suitable for all ages and includes 15 rooms full of stunning formations and history.
Do you prefer something a bit spookier? Then the Haunted Lantern Tour may be the perfect option for you, as it takes place in near pitch blackness and includes the stories of the cave's many alleged hauntings.
In addition to the daily tours, the Cave of the Winds also hosts other special tours and events that you will want to check out!
As if you needed another reason to visit (and love!) the Cave of the Winds, the attraction is also home to other mountain experiences like the pictured Terror-dactyl, ziplines, mining, and more.
Tours of the Cave of the Winds start at $25 for adults (ages 13+) and $17 for children (ages 4 to 12).
