Finding good pie is easy as pie…you just have to know where to look. And if you ask any local, they’ll tell you to look in small town Arkansas, which is home to a tiny, unassuming shop that whips up the most delicious pies.

The small town sweet spot has been around for more than 10 years, and in that time, it’s been featured in Southern Living and on the website Seriouseats.com.
Between the rural locale and ramshackle building, it’d be so easy to drive right past the shop. In reality, though, it’s the opposite.

In fact, it’s not uncommon for there to be a line of patrons snaking out the front door and around the building.
Definitely worth the detour – and the wait – Ms. Lena’s “4-star, world class” pies are decadently delicious.

When it comes to the pies, it’s hard to say what the best part is – the crust or the filling. Thin, savory, rich, and brittle in all the right ways, the crust provides the perfect base for Ms. Lena’s pies. The fillings are just as tantalizing. Like the crust, the fillings are made from scratch and come in a slew of flavors – from chocolate to sour apple.

Unlike the traditional pies, though, the fried pies are only available seasonally.
There’s no denying that Ms. Lena’s is a must-visit; however, there are a few things to keep in mind before making the trek to the small town sweet shop.

Ms. Lena’s is a cash-only type of place, which means you’ll need to swing by an ATM before visiting. Also, there’s no indoor seating, so all orders are to-go. Lastly, the tasty pies at Ms. Lena’s are sold two ways – whole and by-the-slice. We recommend buying the whole pie, so you’ll have leftovers to enjoy later.
