This Might Just Be The Most Beautiful Campground In All Of Arkansas
There are an awful lot of campgrounds in the Natural State, probably because Arkansans love camping so much. How would one even choose between all those gorgeous campsites? Which one really is the most beautiful? I’m going to make an argument that the most beautiful campground in Arkansas might just be Steel Creek Campground near the Buffalo National River.
This campground has 26 tent sites that you can use for $10 a night during peak camping season, but it’s free from mid-November to mid-March. Around the bend about a quarter mile, you’ll find 14 horse camping sites where you can bring your trusty steed. There are also two different bathroom facilities. You can find directions to the campground here.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
Even from a distance you can see the most prominent feature of Steel Creek Campground—Roark Bluff.
The scenic beauty and recreation opportunities are practically endless, but the major draw of Streel Creek Campground is that it’s just steps away from the Buffalo National River.
The gorgeous campground is the perfect place to hang out with your significant other, family, or friends. Including your four-legged friends, as long as you have a leash.
J.B. Weisenfels has lived in rural Arkansas for three decades. She is a writer, a mom, and a graduate student. She is also an avid collector of tacky fish whatnots, slightly chipped teapots, and other old things. In her spare time she enjoys driving to the nearest creek to sit a while. If you were to visit her, she'd try to feed you cornbread.
