And due to the popularity of these springs, it attracted celebrities who wanted to experience the miracle healing for themselves. Naturally, this paved the way for many small towns in Arkansas to promote their own therapeutic springs. Three of which are located inside the tiny town of Mountain Pine. Let’s explore the Three Sisters Springs and the lure behind its healing mineral waters in Arkansas.
Perhaps you’ve been to Lake Ouachita State Park many times. It’s home to the clearest as well as the most beloved lake in Arkansas.
Located in the tiny town of Mountain Pine, this state park attracts many visitors each year. With less than 600 residents, the sleepy town of Mountain Pine doesn't have many other attractions.
And while thousands of tourists flock to the state park to bask in the recreation, it’s the magical springs that used to attract visitors to the area. They truly believed in the healing powers of the springs.
As a result, many wealthy believers flocked to Mountain Pine and stayed at the resort to experience the therapeutic springs for themselves.
Today, the land is leased to the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism, who was commissioned by the US Army Corps of Engineers to preserve the springs.
The historic springs are part of Lake Ouachita State Park, and though many of the resort cottages have been long gone, there are a few that have remained and used for park housing.
Although the waters have been deemed as non-drinkable, many visitors still flock to the springs to learn of these healing mineral waters in Arkansas.
Of course, they also come to enjoy the gorgeous Lake Ouachita and bask in its beauty as well as its recreational activities.
