Woolly Hollow may be one of Arkansas’ lesser-known parks, but that doesn’t make it any less worthy of a visit. Offering camping, hiking, and mountain biking, it’s a great visit year-round. However, if you visit in the summer, you can take advantage of one of the park’s biggest perks – its picturesque lake, which is perfect for swimming. Unbeknownst to many, Arkansas has a flourishing wine country. Nestled at the edge of the Ozark Mountains, Arkansas Wine Country is home to several award-winning wineries, and one you don’t want to miss is Chateau Aux Arc Vineyards and Winery in Altus. If ever there were a waterfall worth chasing, it’s Collins Creek Cascade. Luckily, you won’t have to chase it too far – the trail to the cascade is just over a ½ mile. If you’ve never sought out the QuiVaLa Elise Waterfall, you should change that this summer. Located within the Smith Creek Nature Preserve, the flowing fall is a favorite of photographers, and it’s easy to see why – it’s stunning! A 1.6-mile out-and-back trail leads to the waterfall. It should be noted that the trail is rated "moderate," as it can be a bit difficult to traverse at times, so use extreme caution. For more information, click here.
When the hot summer temps are too much to bear, pay a visit to Arkansas Pineapple Whip! The seasonal sweet shop has two locations – one in Conway and one in Sherwood.
