J.B. Weisenfels has lived in rural Arkansas for three decades. She is a writer, a mom, and a graduate student. She is also an avid collector of tacky fish whatnots, slightly chipped teapots, and other old things. In her spare time she enjoys driving to the nearest creek to sit a while. If you were to visit her, she'd try to feed you cornbread.
Honestly, I think of the Monte Ne Inn as more of a down-home chicken joint, but Travel Insider has proclaimed it the best diner in Arkansas. When you consider all the place has in common with our favorite diners: delicious home-style food, friendly service, and a laid back atmosphere, it seems like diner might be the right word after all. So I accept, Travel Insider. Let’s go ahead and call it a diner. Regardless of what you call it though, this little chicken joint has big flavor and offers a unique dining experience sure to please your whole family.
If you’re not already excited about the chicken, you need to go somewhere where you can jump around without looking crazy, because their blackberry cobbler is worth jumping for. In fact, all their cobbler is worth jumping for.
