As If Frozen In Time, The Mammoth Spring Frisco Depot Is Filled With Realistic, Life-Size Figures
If you’re a train enthusiast or history buff, you’ve got to get your caboose to the Frisco Depot Museum! Bringing the past to life, it’s filled with artifacts, photos, and, best of all, life-size figures that portray depot staff and passengers.
The Frisco Depot Museum is in Mammoth Spring State Park.
Though amazing, the museum is often overshadowed by the park’s namesake, Mammoth Spring. A national natural landmark, it's one of the biggest springs in the world, pumping 9 million gallons of water hourly!
Though restored, the depot has retained its original Victorian appearance and boasts features like brick walkways, a slate roof, and dormer windows with diamond-shaped panes.
A great visit for all ages, each display is accompanied by an audio presentation. There are also a couple of short videos on the history of the railroad in Mammoth Spring.
