Of course, we know that catfish and BBQ are a regional staple, so having both on the menu is a win in my book. And luckily, I found a local favorite restaurant in Arkansas that dishes up some of the most mouthwatering catfish and BBQ around. Come with me to feast on the best of both worlds at Smokin’ Buns in Jacksonville, just 15 miles outside of Little Rock Arkansas.
Huge portion sizes, mouthwatering BBQ, crispy juicy catfish all served with a side of southern hospitality is what you'll find at Smokin' Buns restaurant. Not to mention that you won't break the bank eating here.
It's no wonder the locals can't get enough of this beloved gem. It's guaranteed that you'll find a crowd of folks waiting to feast on everything that this rustic restaurant is dishing up. And if you love catfish and BBQ, then you're in for a real treat.
The menu offers a wide variety of dishes including seafood platters, chicken, burgers, salads, and more. While you can't go wrong with anything that you choose, most folks come for the BBQ and catfish offerings.
As a regional favorite, we love our catfish fried to a golden brown, juicy, flaky, and tender in the middle. And you'll find just that as you sink your teeth into the catfish at Smokin' Buns.
You can get a 2-piece basket that is served with hushpuppies, coleslaw, fries, and homemade tartar sauce. But if you're hungry, opt for a 3, 5, or 7 piece and feast on this regional favorite until your heart’s desire.
We might not be Texas, but BBQ runs in our blood in Arkansas. So, we feast on mouthwatering BBQ any chance we get. And Smokin' Buns dishes up some of the best around. Just look at these juicy ribs, if your mouth ain't watering, then something is wrong with your taste buds.
One of the most requested items on the menu is the Hoss and this massive platter is so big that it needs a knife to hold it together. Other regional favorites include a BBQ pork sandwich, Frito chili pie, a 2-pound BBQ baked potato, and brisket, just to name a few. You'll need to visit more than once to eat through the menu.
Oh, let me not overlook the appetizers or the side items. Y'all know the best way to eat veggies is to deep fry them. And you'll find lots of favorite apps like fried green tomatoes, fried mushrooms, and fried pickles. YUM! For sides, the fried okra, baked beans, and hushpuppies are always at the top of the list.
Whether you go to feast on BBQ, catfish, or both, chances are, you'll be satisfied either way. Of course, you must save room for some fried pies, it's the best way to end a feast like this in Arkansas.
