But there’s only one town that is as delightful as its name. And that charming small town in Arkansas is Romance, and you’ll absolutely fall in love with it.

It’s an unincorporated area in White County with approximately 1,700 residents.
Due to its location, the town is surrounded by natural flowing creeks, scenic overlooks, waterfalls, and more. But what makes this town special is its name.

One legend has it that the name came from a school teacher who found the bluffs on the eastern side of town very romantic. And once you glance these “romantic” cliffs, you’ll see why.

The sunrise and sunsets are magical, and these cliffs would be a great place to snuggle with your sweetheart.
As you can see, the bluffs are laced with graffiti of the names of couples declaring their love for each other. Some might see this as an eye sore, while others embrace the romantic and artistic element of it all.

Unfortunately, the area is now private property and is not accessible to the public. So, the beauty of the bluffs can be admired only from the images left behind.
But there is even more charm to Romance, as the post office offers its own romantic services for passionate couples around the country and the world.

It is said that this small town is the only with its name, so of course, love birds have taken notice. Also, the Romance post office gained popularity when it was chosen as the location to release the first love stamp in 1990.
Best of all, every year, around Valentine’s Day and wedding season, thousands of cards and wedding invitations are sent to the post office to get canceled with a love-themed hand stamp.

Additionally, the post office also offers nuptial services to engaged couples. It performs a few weddings and vow renewals each year.
