Arkansas’ nature centers are great ecosystems to learn about wildlife and explore the natural surroundings. Moreover, they are havens for all nature lovers as well as outdoor enthusiasts. Featuring wildlife hiking trails, fishing, hunting, and more, there are endless adventures waiting. Aside from the outdoor experiences, nature centers are sanctuaries for butterflies as well as other pollinators. And if you’re patient enough, you could even connect with some of these graceful beauties. That’s especially true about the AGFC Fred Berry Crooked Creek Nature Center in Yellville. It’s a little-known ecosystem and in my opinion, the best nature center in Arkansas to witness fluttering pollinators. And if you love butterflies like I do, you’ll want to visit this butterfly wonderland for yourself.
Tucked along Crooked Creek inside the Ozarks, you'll find the 421-acre Fred Berry Conservation Center.
Inside the sanctuary you'll find scenic trails that are perfect for hiking, birdwatching, and more.

Along the trails and throughout the ecosystem, you'll witness a plethora of gorgeous wildflowers native to the area, making this habitat a dream come true for nature lovers.
With its location along Crooked Creek, there are ample opportunities for water recreation as well. A float along the creek would be a pleasant way to spend the day.
Aside from all the fun excursions, you can expect to see lots of pollinators around. And if you love butterflies, you're certainly in for a delightful treat.
There are monarch butterfly larvae scattered all throughout the gardens and wildflower fields.
Be sure to plan your visit accordingly as butterflies are more abundant during the Spring and Summer months.
