Everything changed for the McClards when a guest, who was unable to pay for his 2-month stay, offered an unusual form of payment – a recipe for "the world's greatest bar-b-q sauce." The McClards accepted the quirky offer, and the rest is history!
Today, McClard’s is a landmark with tons of accolades under its belt, including being voted one of The Travel Channel’s, “Top 10 Bar-B-Q Joints.”
Since day one, the family-run restaurant has stuck to the principles set forth by the original owners, such as using only the best ingredients, buying quality cuts, and never skimping on portions.
Though Daniella was born in New York and has lived in a couple of other states, Mississippi has been her home for the past 25 years. After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi, Daniella began to hone her writing skills through various internships, working for The Royal Obsession and Anatomie clothing.
