If You Only Hike Once This Fall Make Sure It’s On This Arkansas Trail
Once the weather stays cool it’ll be nearly impossible to stay indoors, after all this is the Natural State. But, if you could only do one hike all season long, make sure it’s this particular trail. The gorgeous panoramic scenery, rich colors, and magnificent rock formations make Yellow Rock Trail a favorite for families. This beloved trail in Devil’s Den State Park has everything you could ever want for a fall hike.
The leaves have begun to change colors which means a drive through the Boston Mountains is in order.
What better way to get in the mood for a fall hike than by taking one of the most scenic drives in the state. Today's hike is at Devil's Den State Park, which is located at 11333 West Arkansas Hwy. 74, West Fork, AR 72774.
One of the best hikes at the state park is the Yellow Rock Trail. The 3-mile loop has everything you could want for a fall hike.
The gorgeous bluff overlooks Lee Creek Valley, which is especially beautiful in the fall. Take a moment to enjoy the endless view but be sure to watch young children closely since there aren't any guardrails.
In addition to the natural beauty of the area, the trail also leads hikers to some interesting history.
Along Yellow Rock Trail is the first structure built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1933. Devil's Den is one of the most complete and best-preserved CCC-era parks in the country.
This pleasant hike is the perfect family adventure for autumn.
The colorful views make the trip worth it even if the heat is still stubbornly sticking around. The best time to hike Yellow Rock is mid-morning or during the week to stay cool and uncrowded.

Since this trail is in Devil's Den it'll be impossible to just take one hike and be done. We strongly encourage you make a weekend trip this fall and hike Yellow Rock, Lee Creek, Fossil Flats, and all the other trails at the state park.
