For A Front Row View Of A Dazzling Meteor Shower, Plan A Trip This Month To Arkansas’ Wilderness Rider Buffalo Ranch
Anytime is a fantastic time to spend the night at Wilderness Rider Buffalo Ranch but there’s a particular week in August that will be downright stellar! The ranch will be hosting an overnight star party for the zenith of the Perseid Meteor Shower on August 11th to 13th, 2020. Let’s learn more about the ranch as we look up and look forward to this dazzling event!

This is one of the best shooting star shows all year! As Earth approaches the Comet Swift-Tuttle we see a steady stream of meteors from the middle of July until the end of August. The peak of the shower (August 11-13th) will have up to 60 meteors per hour.

The adventure park has picked out their best mountaintop for the event. The mountain also has plenty of open space for everyone to be socially distant while watching the meteor shower. Although the moon will be around its last quarter phase, the meteors from Perseid should outshine the moonlight.

This meteor shower does last around a month. The weekend before or after the 11th of August will still have multiple meteors shooting overhead. The Wilderness Rider Buffalo Ranch is within the Buffalo National River boundaries which means its part of the Dark Sky Park! This means any night features a high-quality view of the starry nights.

Not only is the adventure park named for its proximity to the Buffalo National River, but it's also a working buffalo ranch! You can plan your adventure by visiting their website. For a photo tour follow their Facebook Page.

The ranch has over 2,500 acres of pristine natural wilderness area that features a range of recreation including off-roading, hiking, climbing, riding, and waterfall chasing.

Camping for the meteor shower is $15/person. You can RSVP to the event by calling Wilderness Rider Buffalo Ranch at 870-220-2944. You can also find the Facebook Event Page right here.
