Arkansas is filled with small towns with big adventures but this may just be our favorite stop to take. Have you traveled to St. Joe before? From floating to camping, there are so many adventures packed into this tiny town! Let’s scroll through a tour of some of the town’s noteworthy stops.
St. Joe is a beautiful small town nestled in the Middle District of the famed Buffalo National River. This may be one of the stops you float through but the town is well worth a night or two of exploration.
Bring your own tube and jump right in or visit an outfitter! Silver Hill Float Service or Buffalo River Outfitters can help supply your future float trip! They're especially helpful if you're in need of shuttling.

Pitch a tent and relax before or after your float.
Tyler Bend Campground is one of the prettiest campgrounds along the entire Buffalo. The sites are spread out and include RV hookups or walk-up simplicity. Make your reservations here or snag a first-come, first-serve spot the day of your trip.
In addition to the river activities, you can also spend time outside by tackling one of these nearby trails.
There's a surprising number of local eateries that all deserve some attention. One of the best stops for snacks is Coursey's Smoked Meats. This is where you need to head before you take one a trail or start your float. You can learn more and order by visiting their Facebook Page.
One of the newest eateries is the eclectic Craw Billy's Seafood Boil.
The Cajun-slinging restaurant offers catfish, shrimp, crawfish and even gator! You can read more about their endeavors (and see some mouthwatering seafood) by reading our full article right here.
But wait, we're not done! Another local, delicious, and all around fabulous stop is Big Springs Trading Company.
The Trading Company has a little bit of everything including smoked meats, burgers, and scrumptious homemade pies. You can see more of the menu by reading our full article.
Our last stop of today's tour will be the two-story treasure trove: Ferguson's Country Store and Restaurant.
Ferguson's Country Store and Restaurant has a plethora of goodies to peruse from float essentials to locally-made solid cherry and oak furniture. Find a souvenir or two while you're here! Due to the pandemic, Ferguson's has a hold of their yummy breaksfasts and face-sized cinnamon rolls. Stay tuned for when their normal dining experience returns by following their Facebook Page.
This may be the end of our little scrolling tour but hopefully it's just the beginning of your next getaway!
