The Redding Rec Area is perfectly located between the Mulberry River and the Ozark National Forest. This beautiful showcase of the Natural State is great for lazy weekend.
The main feature of this area is the Spy Rock Loop Trail, though hiking certainly isn't the only adventure to be had. Just pick a direction for either forest- or water-based fun.

The campground sits right next to the river for a peaceful view and easy access.

Redding Campground is about in the middle of the river so it's easy to work into a floating itinerary as either the ending or starting point. The Spy Rock Loop Trail is an 8.3-mile trek to a fabulous overlook up the mountain. The hike is rated as moderate for its elevation gain and will take about 3-4 hours at a leisurely pace. In addition to the serene forest the trail also has a modest waterfall.
Just pick a spot to relax for the day if you're not wanting a multi-day float trip or a day-long hike.
