King’s Bluff Trail is one of our favorite adventures in Arkansas, after all it’s one of the best low-key hikes with an amazing end view. Although we’ve focused on the full trail before, it’s not the only neat part of the hike. Along the way you’ll come across open caves and pedestal-like formations that make quite a fun maze to explore mid-hike.

Pedestal Rocks Loop may be less easy than the neighboring King's Bluff, but it has quite an interesting feature that more than makes up for its difficulty.

The 2.4-mile trail is located west of Ben Hur along Highway 16. For directions to this trail, use this map.
The trail peaks at a lovely bluff view of the pedestal rocks but that's not the end of the adventure.
AllTrails/G D
Look for an old trace road near the bluffs for an easy spot to descend. It may be a light bushwhack in the spring and summer.
You'll find a bit of a maze to explore beneath the bluff.
AllTrails/Vada Harrell
Once you've reached ground level you'll see two open caves and the bases of the pedestal rocks.
The caves aren't deep but they do make for an hour or two of exploration.

You'll feel like a kid when you're climbing around the rock formations and exploring the caves.
This rock maze below the Pedestal Rocks Loop is fun little side trip to take while you're in the area.
