There’s No Better Spring Time Celebration Than This Month-Long Art Festival In Arkansas
Eureka Springs has the highest ratio of artists to residents in the state. One out of every six people living in Eureka Springs is an artist! Naturally, this eclectic town celebrates the arts with a spectacular month-long festival. This coming month will be Eureka Springs’ May Festival of the Arts. Let’s see what all festivities are planned for this over-the-top celebration.
The 32nd Annual May Festival of the Arts will kick off with the ArtRageous Parade. Cheer on the passing performers, musicians, art cars, and outrageous floats.
If you can only attend one day of Eureka Springs' festivities, we highly suggest attending the parade. The parade is May 4th, from 2 - 3 pm.
In addition to catching them in the parade, you can watch jugglers at the Northwest Arkansas Juggling Festival.
You don't have to be a seasoned juggler to enjoy all of the activities, you can even learn how to juggle for free! The festival includes intro workshops, performances, and camping at the Green Tree Lodge. This portion of events will be May 10th-12th. Some of the Juggling Festival’s events require tickets, they can be purchased
Moms can enjoy a day of appreciation during a lovely concert.
John Two-Hawks will be headlining the Mother's Day Concert to Honor Women on May 12th at the AUD (32 N Main St., Eureka Springs, AR 72632). The best part is that all moms get in for free! Non-moms can purchase tickets
Of course this wouldn't be a proper Eureka Springs festival without the art!
Enjoy the Second Saturday Gallery Stroll on May 11th, the four-day long Chalk Art Street Festival from the 14th - 17th, and the White Street Walk on the 17th. This walk is a tour through local artists' homes to see their creations.
This year's festival has a special focus on writers and readers.
Books in Bloom Literary Festival will be on May 19th at the Crescent Hotel & Spa. The free event will feature authors Chris Bohaljian, Wiley Cash, and "Pete the Cat" creator James Dean.
These are just of the art-tastic events happening in May.
