Besides just being a colossal lake, the Ouachita also features more than one hundred islands! These spaces range from secluded sand bar to sizable forests. Lake Ouachita is so clear that harmless jellyfish and sponges that can only live in the most pristine environments thrive here. Snorkeling and scuba diving are popular around the lake and understandably so!

This lake can be a wonderful day trip or a full weekend retreat complete with island camping. You'll at least need to stay long enough to catch a fish since the lake also boasts superior fishing, specifically for bass, crappie, bream and catfish.
