Few People Know You Can Spend The Night At Arkansas’ Only Buffalo Farm
There’s not much the Ratchford Buffalo Farms doesn’t have. It’s the only buffalo farm in the county and one of the oldest in the state. With it’s remote cabin, fascinating buffalo, delicious jerky and jellies, and quick access to the most popular river in the state, Ratchford Buffalo Farms is a perfect Arkansas trip.
Ratchford Buffalo Farms is perfectly located between the Ozark National Forest and Middle of Nowhere, Arkansas.
The secluded farm in Marshall is the perfect getaway for anyone needing a relaxing recharge. Ratchford Farms is located at
2060 Trout Farm Rd., Marshall, AR 72650.
As Searcy county's original and only buffalo farm, it's one of the few places in the state to see a herd of buffalo.
You can safely watch and feed the herd through L.C. Ratchford's impressive hand-welded fencing.
There's more than buffalo roaming the farm, there's also a petting zoo.
Most all of the farm's animals are rescues including a surprisingly friendly deer. The zoo has emu, llama, goats, alpaca, peacocks and a long haired highland cow.
You'll definitely want to take advantage of the farm's onsite store.
The store has the freshest beef, buffalo, and elk meat you could possible find in the state. Munch on seasoned jerky or take home a jar of jam made from farm-grown fruits.
Once you fall in love with the farm you'll be delighted to know that you can spend a night or two in this tranquil area.
The two-bedroom cabin can comfortably sleep up to six guests.
The cabin is perfect for a family vacation or for a couple wishing to elope. There's even a Justice of the Peace on site!
The cabin has plenty of kitchen space to prepare a delicious home cooked meal.
Using all the fresh meat you just got from the Ratchford store, of course.
What's even better is that the farm is just a short 25-minute drive from the Buffalo National River.
After meeting all the critters on the farm you can have a full-fledged kayaking excursion.
This unique cabin stay is just one more fantastic adventure to have in Arkansas.
No matter if you're staying the weekend or just scheduling a tour, the Ratchford Buffalo Farms is a wonderful Arkansas stop.
