Straddling The U.S.-Mexico Border, The Town Of Nogales, Arizona Is One Of The Most Unique Places You’ll Ever Visit

If you’ve never visited the charming town of Nogales, Arizona, consider this your sign to plan a trip ASAP. This charming town straddles the U.S-Mexico border, and has a sister city of the same name in the Mexican state of Sonora. Immerse yourself in culture and history for an afternoon – and perhaps even pop over into Mexico for some more sightseeing and delicious food!

Located along the U.S.-Mexico border, the town of Nogales, Arizona makes an ideal day trip destination. The scenery is gorgeous, and there are lots of fun activities to keep you busy for an afternoon.

First off, you'll want to stop by the Nogales-SCC Chamber of Commerce Visitor & Tourism Center to get the lay of the land.

You'll find tons of helpful information here, and the perfectly-manicured grounds are a nice bonus.

The Pimeria Alta Historical Society Museum is also a must-visit. Here, guests can enjoy an in-depth look into the history of Nogales, including its relationship with its Sonoran sister city.

Exhibits range from old jail cells to dioramas, and they're all fascinating. Plus, the docents are contagiously friendly - and incredibly proud of the city they call home.

Also in town is the Sacred Heart Parish, a stunning church nestled at the base of a monstrous hill.

The building is absolutely stunning both inside and out - the altar alone is worth dropping in to see.

Many visitors also enjoy paying a visit to the Santa Cruz County Wall of Honor. This incredibly moving military memorial lists all of the county's veterans dating back over 100 years, and the grounds (which also contain the Nogales City Hall) feature an LED-lit fountain, picnic areas, and a seasonal splash pad.

If you have a passport, you can pop on over to Nogales, Sonora for even more sightseeing.

The food is to die for - you'll be hard-pressed to find better street tacos elsewhere!
