An Arizona Family Has Turned Their Home Into The Most Haunted House You’ll Ever Visit
Ever thought about turning your home into a Halloween attraction? One Phoenix family did just that, and for the past decade, ghouls and goblins of all ages have been turning out in droves to experience the thrills and chills hiding in their backyard. Mount Mayhem gets better every year, and we don’t foresee this season to be any different.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
For the past decade, one Phoenix family has been terrorizing the town with their annual haunted house, which they call Mount Mayhem. The theme changes yearly, so you never know what to expect.
It is a free attraction, but donations are accepted.
Each year, the family spends over 150 hours building props for the haunt. The result is a backyard full of scares at every turn, sure to leave all who enter shaking in their boots.
It’s a continuation of last year’s “Enfermedad,” a sickness that swept through the underworld and managed to wipe out all the creatures from realms far beyond our own - or so we thought.
Enough of the undead survived to once again wreak havoc this Halloween. They’re back, with masks on this time around to prevent a resurgence of the illness.
The 2020 schedule is October 23-25 and 29-31 from 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m each night. Reservations are required.
Here’s a preview of this year’s haunt from the Mount Mayhem YouTube channel:
In addition to those outlined above, Mount Mayhem is taking steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19. You can review them and make a reservation on their website. Click here to visit the Facebook page.
