Sink Your Teeth Into Authentic Italian Pastries At This Amazing Bakery In Arizona
Variety is the spice of life; a sentiment that especially rings true when referring to food. If your dessert game could use a little shaking up, look no further than The Sicilian Baker. This Phoenix sweet shop boasts a vast array of authentic Italian pastries – including a build-your-own cannoli bar – that takes your taste buds on an overseas journey without ever leaving Arizona. Take a bite:
Owned by celebrity chef Joey Maggiore, The Sicilian Baker is Arizona's most innovative new pastry shop.
With one location in Phoenix and two more on the way in Chandler and Peoria, this unassuming spot brings authentic Italian desserts to the desert.
Upon walking in, you'll be instantly greeted by two equally wonderful things: the intoxicating smell of fresh-baked pastry dough and a glass case filled with pastries from end to end.
There's even a build-your-own cannoli bar with more combinations than your mind could ever fathom!
Shell options include white chocolate, chocolate, pistachio, and confetti, and 11 different creams include flavors like strawberry, Oreo, and mint chocolate chip.
The cannolis are available in mini, regular, large, and Sicilian (AKA ginormous) sizes.
Oh, and let's not forget about the toppings!
Sprinkles aren't just for ice cream - and while they don't contribute much in the way of flavor, their festivity enhances any dessert.
Some of the pastries, such as Tiramisu, you're likely familiar with. Others, like this sponge caked filled with sweet ricotta, marzipan, and topped with a candied cherry, are probably new territory.
Eight different cookie varieties round out the baked good selection.
Classics like biscotti, amaretti, and Italian wedding cookies offer familiarity, while more exotic delicacies such as pine nut and sesame dare patrons to step outside their comfort zone.
Pair your pastries with a heaping scoop of traditional Italian gelato for the fullest experience.
With flavors like Biscoff, Limoncello, Stracciatella, and other authentic options, your taste buds will take a trip to Italy without ever leaving Arizona.
Everyone knows coffee brings out flavor subtleties, so don't forget to pick up a steaming mug from the espresso bar!
Menu options include Nutella, Raspberry White Chocolate, Honey Nut, and so many more. There's something to satisfy every palate, whether you prefer bold, bitter notes or a full-blown sugar coma.
