Eat Endless Fried Catfish At This Rustic Restaurant In Arizona
Arizona may not have a coastline, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy fresh, delicious seafood. Oscar’s Pier 83 in Glendale serves up just that, with an all-you-can-eat catfish special on Sundays that promises to leave you happily stuffed.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
Since 2004, Oscar's Pier 83 has been serving up some of the best seafood in the Valley. Fish 'n chips is their specialty, but you'll find everything from fresh oysters to New England clam chowder on the menu.
Although Oscar's is located in a shopping center, the atmosphere will whisk you out to sea. Rustic, nautical decor lines the walls, making for a truly authentic dining experience.
As we mentioned, fish 'n chips is by far the most popular item. Seven different varieties, including Icelandic Cod, catfish, and salmon, ensure there's something everyone will enjoy.
On Sundays, you can chow down on all-you-can-eat catfish for just $14.95 a person. The meal deal features fries and coleslaw, with substitutions like hush puppies, a vegetable medley, and dinner salad available for a small fee.
If you prefer, the catfish can be ordered as a sandwich instead. It isn't all-you-can-eat, but the addition of bread makes for a substantially more filling dish. Other sandwiches include battered cod, grilled Ahi tuna, tilapia, plus classic shrimp, clam, and oyster po-boys.
Fish tacos always hit the spot, and Oscar's knows just how to make 'em. Your choice of fish is either fried or broiled, then served on flour tortillas with shredded cabbage, creamy chipotle sauce, tomatoes, and pico de gallo.
Ample outdoor seating allows current social distancing guidelines to be effortlessly observed. Not to mention if you really use your imagination, the occasional desert breeze can create the illusion of being at the beach (okay, maybe not quite, but it's all we've got!)
