This City Park In Arizona Has Its Own Amusement Rides And You’ll Want To Go Again And Again
When it comes to colossal city parks, the Big Apple’s Central Park has nothing on this city park in Arizona. Centrally located in the heart of Phoenix, Encanto Park is a recreational oasis with much to admire and discover – including its own amusement park!
The 222 acres that comprise this city park include a picturesque lagoon, a boat house, swimming pool, a nature trail, two golf courses — and a delightful amusement park located on a man-made island in the middle of it all.
Enchanted Island, a privately owned amusement park, is a favorite among locals and visitors to the Phoenix area. Hours upon hours of entertainment await inside the official entrance to the unique midway that features rides, games, concessions and loads of family fun. And best of all? There is never an admission fee to get into Enchanted Island!
Once inside the park, you can elect to just walk around and enjoy the festive atmosphere; or, if you want to ride the rides, you can head to the ticket booth to purchase individual ride tickets, books of 20 tickets, or an all-day ride pass.
Whether you're staying an hour or all day, the fun is never-ending at Enchanted Island Amusement Park. Rides like the Encanto Carousel, the Dragon Wagon (a small roller coaster for the kiddos), and Parachute Tower provide hours of thrills and chills... or, just take one spin (one ride pass costs a mere $1.25) and then head home.
The C.P. Huntington Train is a favorite among adults and kids alike. It was one of the first rides to open when Enchanted Island opened in 1991.
The toddlers in the family have their own bumper boats ride, limited to kids 48-inches tall and under. Encanto Park was named by Forbes as one of the Top 12 City Parks In America — and it's easy to see why! Magical times await at this fun city park and its enchanting amusement park that's geared toward families with children aged 1-10.
