Cool Off This Summer With A Visit To These 7 Arizona Waterfalls
During the dog days of summer in Arizona, it can feel like there’s no end in sight. Never fear – waterfalls are here to cool you off and make these next few months more bearable. The following seven waterfalls are perfect to visit this time of year, and each one belongs on your bucket list.

A Navajo Nation hidden gem, Grand Falls is also known as "Chocolate Falls" because of its milky brown hue caused by snowmelt picked up as the water flows. At a height of 185 feet, Grand Falls is taller than Niagara Falls! Please note: Grand Falls is currently closed to the public.

Spilling into a pristine, almost emerald pool of water, Cibecue Falls is an underrated summer destination in Gila County. The trail to get there is just three miles long, so most skill levels can enjoy making a splash in the swimming hole and admiring the 40-foot-tall natural wonder.

A Tucson favorite, the Tanque Verde Falls are a series of waterfalls on the far east side of Tucson. You'll embark on a 1.8-mile trail en route to the falls, which features quite a bit of rock scrambling - but it's worth the effort! Jumping in the cool, crisp water at the base of the billowing, 80-foot waterfall feels amazing after a somewhat difficult hike.

If you've ever wanted to walk behind a waterfall, now's your chance! Hiding along the North Kaibab Trail, which has a trailhead at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Ribbon Falls is a breathtaking oasis surrounded by moss and other lush greenery - quite a different scene compared to the hot, dry canyon landscape!

Another popular Tucson waterfall, Seven Falls are a series of seven waterfalls (hence the name) at the end of a relatively easy, 8-mile hike. If you're in a time crunch, you can take a tram to cut the hike in half!

One of the least-known waterfalls in Arizona, Workman Creek Falls is a hidden gem nestled between Young and Globe. Truly a sight for sore eyes, the falls stand at a whopping 200 feet and are surrounded by the dense forestry of the Sierra Ancha Wilderness.

Last, but certainly not least, is the waterfall at Fossil Creek. Spilling into a blue-green oasis, this incredible place belongs on every Arizonan's summer bucket list. There's even a hidden cave with the most beautiful turquoise waters you've ever seen!
