Add This Small Town Arizona Restaurant To Your Bucket List

In its heyday, Route 66 was the pinnacle of freedom and roadside adventure. Here you could find hundreds of miles of open road and fresh air while driving from one section of the country to another to experience just how unique this country is.

Today, we’re going to take a look at one particularly unique Route 66 stop that has been a favorite location for travelers since the 1950s.

Delgadillo's Snow Cap Drive-In is located in the little town of Seligman, which is about 76 miles west of Flagstaff.

The restaurant first opened in 1953 by Juan and Mary Delgadillo as a humble eatery built from scraps found at the local lumber yard and decorated with an eclectic taste to attract customers.

One of the most iconic sights here is this vintage car which was added shortly after the restaurant opened.

The top was removed, the car was painted, and Delgadillo added an odd collection of items to the car's surface. Today, it's one of the most photographed portions of the restaurant.

You'll also find quite a few other vintage cars sitting nearby, just waiting for you to have your picture taken with them!

Once you enter the building, you are greeted by a huge collection of posters, flyers, stickers, and other odds and ends stuck to the walls and ceiling.

Make a short turn right after entering the building and place your order for some classic American food, like a burger and a shake, for a reasonable price for such an iconic stop.

The food is inexpensive but still tasty! You also get a cute little smiling potato with your meal.

The fun doesn't stop with the outdoor sights or the food! The entire family has a wacky sense of humor that even extends to location of doorknobs.

The restaurant continues to operate as a family business and is now run by Juan and Mary's children and grandchildren, who greet customers with the same level of enthusiasm and fun as their relatives before them.
