The 10 Best Places In Arizona To Go On An Unforgettable Picnic
Are you looking for a romantic spot to enjoy a romantic meal with your sweetie? Or perhaps a place to enjoy a lunch and short walk with the kids? Get your blankets and baskets ready! Here are some Arizona picnic spots where you can get a scenic view.
Remember: don’t feed the wildlife (no matter how cute they look) and take all of your trash with you when you leave any of these beautiful locations.
1. Canyon de Chelly
Enjoy a meal under the cottonwood trees following your sightseeing here. The picnic area near the campsite is small so you may want to consider bringing a blanket to sit on if you can’t find a picnic table.
Also, wherever you decide to lunch, just be sure to pick a spot that is comfortable and accessible. We don’t recommend eating your meal like this guy! Ouch!
2. Grand Canyon
What other location would have such an epic backdrop to your picnic? There are plenty of designated picnic spots in the park, including some located near the edge.
What a view!
3. Granite Basin Lake
This small lake has several picnic areas but near the lake is best. They have grills and a firepit available for use, plus the scenic view shouldn’t be missed.
4. Kehl Spring
You can enjoy a meal and a view like this right along the Mogollon Rim at the Kehl Spring Campground. Wow!
5. Lost Dutchman State Park
You can enjoy this view from one of the four designated picnic areas at the state park. If you’re visiting with the kids, you can walk along the short Native Plant or Discovery Trail so that you can still get your steps in.
6. Lynx Lake
Enjoy this pretty view a few miles outside of Prescott.
7. Papago Park
If you’re planning to visit the Phoenix Zoo, plan to eat your lunch here to avoid the crowds. Once the temperatures cool down, enjoy a walk or bike ride along one of the trails before you sit down for a lunch.
8. Red Rock State Park
You can choose from one of three official picnic areas in this park or, if you’re going on a long hike, you can enjoy a meal on one of the trails.
This would make for a spectacular view!
9. White Horse Lake
Another pretty, quiet spot under the pines is at White Horse Lake. Along with a picnic, you can also hike or bike along one of the nearby trails.
Truly a lovely sight!
10. Woods Canyon Lake
Enjoy the cool mountain air here at the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest. Official picnic grounds are located near the lake so you can enjoy a beautiful view like this.
