The calendar may say otherwise but summer definitely seems to be here in Arizona. That means most of us are looking for ways to stay cool but sitting under the air conditioner all day is no fun! If you want to get out of the house and spend some time under the sun without roasting, you’ll want to check out this natural waterslide.
This is Slide Rock State Park, which sits just off the scenic Highway 89A a few miles north of Sedona in the beautiful Oak Creek canyon.
The cool waters rush down an 80-foot winding sandstone crevice, smooth and slippery from years of water erosion. No wonder it’s the perfect spot for summer recreation!
Your adventure starts here, the entrance of the state park. You’ll get to see the beautiful red rocks surrounding the natural waterslide and the homestead that still sits here.
Walk down to the waters and you’ll see what all the hullabaloo about the park is about. You can walk around, do a bit of sunbathing, and have fun wading through some areas.
