This Is One Place In Arizona That Looks Like Narnia

Ready to experience a bit of magic in the Grand Canyon State? That’s actually not a difficult feat but if you’re looking to find a place that is reminiscent of the lush landscape described in a beloved children’s book series. While it’s been years since I’ve read any of the books in The Chronicles of Narnia series, I do remember the landscape described as a lush, forested country with mountains and hills. There is one spot in particular that looks absolutely heavenly, a place where you could imagine mythical creatures and talking animals roaming and magic happening.

If there's any place in Arizona that could double as Narnia, it would probably be Lockett Meadow which sits at the base of the San Francisco Peaks.

While you may not find a massive river or ocean nearby, Lockett Meadow certainly has the mountainous characteristics down.

Most people know Lockett Meadow for the incredible leaf show that can be seen on the side of the Peaks.

As the fall season progresses, the aspen leaves turn warmer and richer in color, enticing photographers, hikers, and campers to enjoy the area one last time before it closes for the winter.

Lockett Meadow also happens to be the trailhead location for the Inner Basin Trail.

This scenic hike takes you deep into the mountain, where you'll pass through an unbelievably lush forest with aspens and pines towering overhead.

The trail is a steady climb and will take right into the heart of the ancient volcano, offering a spectacular view of the land below.

Spring, summer, or fall, this is one spot in Arizona you don't want to miss!

Lockett Meadow can be accessed between May 5 and October 9 each year. You can find details about directions, fees, and current conditions by visiting the website for Coconino National Forest.
