In case you haven’t already noticed, the weather is starting to warm up around the state, signaling the beginning of spring. The snow is melting, the wildflowers are blooming, and the current temperatures are perfect for hiking. If you want to find a relatively easy hike that will show off the beauty of Arizona, then you’ll want to check out this trail near Sedona.
Woods Canyon Trail #93 is a trail that sits in Red Rock country, just south of Sedona and the Village of Oak Creek.
The trail measures 4.5 miles one-way, so expect to hike 8 to 9 miles total. Whenever you feel like returning, just turn around and head back in the same direction.
Although it sounds long, the trail is actually pretty easy. It's level with a well-defined trail and the first mile follows a jeep trail before narrowing.
This time of year, you'll get to see wildflowers and Dry Beaver Creek will look quite pretty from the snow melt. While a good portion of the hike leads you along the banks of the creek, the trail will eventually end in this area.
