The tube park operates four 1.5 hour sessions each day. It’s the closest ski resort near Anchorage, even closer than Alyeska Resort in Girdwood. Even with a short operating week, they rarely sell out, except around the holidays.
There is a limit of 50 riders per session. Both large adult size tubes and children's tubes are available for each session. Book online to make sure you will have tubes for everyone! You’ll want to make sure you book ahead on their website to guarantee your reservation.
Arrive at least 30 minutes before your session to get dressed and ready, and make sure to dress warmly for the Alaskan temperatures. There is no minimum age limit for kiddos, but they should be able to get in and out of the tube on their own. Make sure to dress in layers, with a waterproof shell. The snow can get messy, and wet clothes can be cold!
You can book the whole place for a birthday party, corporate team-building or family day activity. There are also special events and races to check out in the spring. There is a lot to do in our beautiful state during the winter time! Alaska is truly a winter playground. With international, world class skiing, incredible ice climbing, and alpenglow that will stun you, Alaska is the place to be during the cold winter months. And if you can’t sleep at night, look up! Because the aurora borealis may be dancing across the night sky on extra cold winter nights.
How cold does it get in Alaska during the winter?
It depends on where you are in the state, but winter on average lasts from October through March or April.It gets very cold in the northern areas of the state, frequently in negatives. You may even see temperatures as low as negative forty or colder! But along the coast you’ll find far more temperate seasons, including winter. You’ll rarely see far below freezing, and you’re more likely to have sleet than snow, although you will find snowstorms periodically through winter.
