There’s a trail in Juneau that takes you through a beautiful forest and offers scenes of waterfalls and glaciers. The Trail of Time takes you through some of the most amazing scenic views that Alaska has to offer. Find an hour in your day to ramble along this little path.

This trail starts at the stunning Mendenhall Visitors Center.

There are many trails that lead out from the center, including one that takes you to the famous Nugget Falls. The Trail of Time is a short hike that maximizes the breathtaking views of this area.
The trail is well groomed and maintained, and easy to travel.

It's clearly marked and level. The entire elevation gain is only 121 feet throughout the entire hike.

At 1.1 miles, this is a great hike for the little ones in your family. It's an easy loop with plenty of interesting things to look at and take in.
You'll spot Mendenhall Glacier in the peekaboo views from the trail.

Rising up and over the trees, this thirteen and a half mile long glacier spills into the lake beneath it. Mendenhall Glacier is one of the most popular glaciers to visit in Alaska, and this trail is a great way to see it while walking through an otherwise quiet forest.
This hike offers a lot of beautiful details, including bubbling creeks, towering trees, and all sorts of waterfalls.

There's also an abundance of wildlife on this trail. Occasionally the trail will be closed due to many bears spotted in the area, but they will put plenty of signs up to let you know if that's the case.
The waterfall is one of the most popular spots along this trail.

Cascading over many different rock groups, it provides a soothing backdrop to a pleasant hike. Spend a couple minutes taking it in before you loop back to the parking lot and the end of your hike.
