The Glenn Highway cuts east to west across the southern part of Alaska and winds through some of the most beautiful scenery Alaska has to offer. The highway takes you from the farm lands of the Matanuska-Susitna Valley to Glennallen and the Copper River area. The highway climbs and falls with the Chugach Mountains to the south and the Talkeetna Mountains to the north. This highway is a little less busy than the Parks and is great for a road trip. Enjoy the Glenn the next time you need to go east from Anchorage. From Glennallen head east to Chitina and McCarthy, south to Valdez and Cordova, or head north to Tok, Chicken or Eagle. You will love spending a day in the mountains on the Glenn Highway.
