Travel Along The Sweeping Cook Inlet When You Hike Alaska’s Gull Rock Trail
There are some trails that are just lovely to hike as the seasons change. The Gull Rock Trail in Alaska offers stunning Cook Inlet views that will take your breath away, no matter which month you hike it. Grab a loved one, pack a picnic, and head out on this trail based out of Hope, Alaska.

This trail follows along the coastline for gorgeous peekaboo views of the water. The scene is crowned with the Chugach mountains across the Inlet, and every spot is photo worthy.

It’s relatively easy, although it’s a long hike. The entire length is 11 miles, out and back.

It’s pretty mellow, and the elevation gain is very slow over the trail. This is a great hike for a family, and only rated moderate.

Take a minute, relax, and take in the sights. Eat a snack and drink some water before you head back out on the trail.

Leave early to make sure you have a great spot. And there are bears in this area, so stay bear aware as you hike along this beautiful trail.

If you’re camping at Porcupine Campground, there’s an entrance to this trail at the edge of the campground. Some hikers even walk from downtown Hope to the trailhead!

Grab some loved ones and get outside! It’s the perfect way to spend a weekend afternoon.
