This beautiful little spot got its start as a charming schoolhouse by the sea in Homer, Alaska.
It was transformed into a hotel and restaurant in the 1940s. During the years, some of the rooms in this building were home to cafes, newspaper offices, and even taxi services.
Now it is a lovely inn run by a family whose own grandfather attended the school in this building in the 1920s.
The inn offers many types of rooms, from tiny little 8' x 12' rooms to their newest option, the Carriage House rooms. No matter what kind of experience you're looking for, they will provide it for you!
The smallest rooms are aptly called the "Ships Quarters," and have natural cedar planked walls.
Furnished with Pullman style twin beds, these even come with private bathrooms although it is a small space. This room is perfect for the budget traveler who wants clean, cozy, and private accommodation without breaking the bank.
