If you’re headed to Seward, Alaska, then you need to stop by this incredible trail and get a bird’s eye view of Kenai Lake. The Crown Point Mine Road is an underrated trail that will give you some of the best views around. This moderate hike is a great way to break up your day with some of the prettiest scenery in Alaska.
Kenai Lake is one of the most epic lakes in Alaska.
Its sheer size and gorgeous blue hue make it a favorite destination for Alaskans and visitors alike. It’s a favorite stop if you’re heading south to Seward.
There’s a great hike on an old mine road that can give you stunning panoramic views of Kenai Lake.
The trail is 10.7 miles out and back, which could take you a couple of hours to complete, depending on your skill level.
There’s about 3,543 feet of elevation gain throughout the entirety of the trail.
Once you get out from the trees, the views open up. You’ll get stunning views from all around you.
This trail isn’t well-known in the hiking community, but it’s a wonderful way to explore this area.
There may be some areas in the beginning that are a little overgrown, so be sure to dress well.
The trail is very well-maintained, and nice and wide.
As it’s an old mine road, you may seen bicyclists and ATVs on the trail, too. It’s a mixed use trail and everyone loves it!
This hike is great to do in spring, summer, and fall.
