With December getting off to such a snowy start (almost a foot in 48 hours), we can’t think of a better time to load up the family and venture down to one of these enchanting Main Streets for a winter wonderland experience. Enjoy a mix of bustling city views and sleepy small town sights – all dressed to the nines in magical, sparkling Christmas lights. Get ready for a major dose of holiday eye candy!
1. Fifth Avenue – Anchorage
Until the ice sculptures arrive in January, enjoy a visit to downtown Anchorage and soak in the magical array of Christmas lights at Town Square Park.
2. Main Street – Nome
It might be dark for months on end in this remote Alaska town, but that doesn't stop the community from getting into the holiday spirit. Just one drive down this main road and you will be feeling alive and revived to take on the holidays with a smile!
