The Bremner Historic Mining Site is located in the far southeast corner of the state.
When the mines stopped producing around 1941, the area was slowly abandoned. The ruins that remain are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The most haunting thing about this place is the way in which everything seems to have been simply abandoned. Automobiles sit in the shelter of their garages, as if they were just driven yesterday.
