Alabama’s U.S. Space & Rocket Center Was Recently Named One Of The Coolest Places In The World
Alabama is home to many amazing attractions. While some are only known locally, others are known throughout the state, country, and even world. One of these better-known attractions is the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, which “TIME for Kids” recently included on its list of

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center, which opened in 1970, is located in Huntsville, aka "The Rocket City." It's often referred to as "Earth's largest space museum."
Each year, an average of more than half a million people from around the world visit this unique space museum. It's perfect for all ages and families of all sizes.
While touring the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, you'll encounter a variety of space memorabilia. In fact, more than 1,500 rocketry and space artifacts are on display.
As you're strolling the museum grounds, you'll likely notice a gravestone. This belongs to Miss Baker, America's first animal to fly in space and return back alive. Visitors enjoy leaving bananas for her.
One of the museum's main features is its authentic Saturn V moon rocket. Only three of these rockets exist today.
