Here Are 12 Things You’ll Never Catch Anyone From Alabama Doing
Here in Alabama, there are many things we do differently than other states. Of the many things we do, you won’t catch the majority of us doing any of the following 12 things.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

Everything in Alabama is a "coke." EVERYTHING!!!

We're Southern, so we're going to speak Southern. Yes, we often get made fun of, but SO WHAT! This is how we talk and those who don't like it, don't have to listen.

We take college football very seriously here in Alabama, and most everyone knows the schedule by heart. To miss a game here in Alabama is like missing an important family event somewhere else. It's crazy, but it's TRUE!!!

Even the slightest mention of "snow" in Alabama sends everyone into full-blown panic mode. After fighting the craziness at the grocery store for our milk, bread and eggs, we tend to lock ourselves in our homes until the snow melts. Yes, there are those few people who will take a chance and brave the roads, only to wind up in a ditch. For the most part, everyone in Alabama stays inside on snowy days.

Here in Alabama, we LOVE to eat! We would never, ever, EVER refuse a second helping!

Alabama's summers are long, hot and MISERABLE! You definitely won't hear any of us praising the summer heat. If anything, you'll hear us dissing it and counting down the days until fall arrives.

Nobody in Alabama obeys traffic laws. We've all been guilty of speeding, running stop signs, making illegal u-turns, etc. We may not have a ticket to prove it, but we're all guilty of disobeying traffic laws.

Ever since the 2011 tornado outbreak, we take tornado sirens much more seriously than ever before.

When someone invites us to hang out with them on their boat, we normally accept their invitation. We LOVE spending time on the water!

Here in the South, the only way to drink tea is sweet and iced.

Because of our great Southern hospitality, we normally make friends everywhere we go - even in the checkout lines at retail stores.

Alabama will always be home and we'll NEVER forget our roots!
