Taqueria Mexico Is A Tiny Restaurant In Alabama That Serves Delicious Mexican Food
Don’t let anybody tell you the suburbs don’t have good food. Located 6.5 miles west of downtown Mobile, Alabama, Taqueria Mexico is an unassuming taco joint with a colorful interior, traditional menu, and Latin grocery. In short, it’s everything you’re looking for in a local Mexican restaurant.
The tacos are a specialty. The street tacos are under $4 each and include traditional varieties such as al pastor, lengua (beef tongue), and carnitas. They’re served with cilantro, onion, radishes, and lime to complete the dish.
The menu is extensive but not overwhelming, covering a large variety of Mexican dishes. The burritos are 10 inches long, except for the Burrito California that comes in at a hefty 14 inches and is covered with a layer of queso.
Like any good Mexican restaurant worth its salt, Taqueria Mexico features some great margheritas including blackberry, passionfruit, and pineapple. They also have draft beer, tequila, and Jarritos.
Attached to the restaurant is a Latin food market. Don’t leave without browsing the groceries, snacks, and ingredients from several Latin American countries!
Additional items on the menu include tortas, fajitas, sopes, soups and salads, and a decent seafood selection. There is also a small assortment of vegetarian dishes. In the area but can’t make it to the restaurant? They deliver!
You can find out more about Taqueria Mexico, including its hours of operation and menu, on the restaurant’s website. Call ahead to see if they’ll be hosting karaoke while you’re in town.
