With an elevation of 2,407 feet, Cheaha State Park, which is located atop Cheaha Mountain, is Alabama's highest natural point. It offers some of the most spectacular views you'll ever experience here in the Yellowhammer State.

3. Little River Canyon National Preserve - Fort Payne
Little River Canyon National Preserve is located atop Lookout Mountain and is one of Alabama's greatest outdoor destinations. Its main feature is Little River Falls, which is one of the state's most popular waterfalls. Address: 4322 Little River Trail, Fort Payne, AL, 35967.
Covering 69,000 acres, Lake Guntersville is Alabama's largest lake. From boating and water skiing, to fishing and kayaking, this beautiful lake offers a variety of recreational activities for all ages. Dismals Canyon, which is located off the beaten path in rural North Alabama, covers 85 acres and is the perfect spot for a summer hike. In addition to it being home to one of Alabama's most beautiful waterfalls, it's also one of the few places in the world where you'll find a dismalite - a rare insect resembling a glowworm.
