Alabama is home to several mountains that offer incredible views and a variety of attractions for all ages. From beautiful parks and scenic preserves, to award-winning restaurants and unique chapels, there are several attractions located atop Alabama’s most beautiful mountains that we simply can’t get enough of. Listed below are 10 of our favorite mountaintop attractions.
1. Cheaha State Park -— Delta
Cheaha State Park is located atop Cheaha Mountain, which is Alabama's highest natural point. This state park offers stunning waterfalls, beautiful wildlife, and gorgeous scenery. Without a doubt, Cheaha State Park is an outdoorsman's paradise!

2. Town of Mentone
The town of Mentone is located atop Lookout Mountain and has less than 500 residents. In addition to it being one of Alabama's most charming small towns, it also has the highest elevation of them all. While visiting Mentone, you'll experience views unlike anywhere else.
3. Wildflower Cafe — Mentone
One of Mentone's main attractions is Wildflower Cafe. This quaint cafe serves a variety of delicious food in a casual environment. It's also been featured in a number of publications. Wildflower Cafe is a must-visit the next time you're passing through Mentone. (6007 AL-117)
4. Sallie Howard Memorial Chapel — Mentone
Sallie Howard Memorial Chapel is another attraction that's located in Mentone. In 1937, this unique chapel was built into the side of a rock by Milford Howard. He did this as a memorial to Sallie, his late wife. Sallie Howard Memorial Chapel is open to the public, and services are still held there each Sunday.

5. Little River Canyon National Preserve — Fort Payne
It's no secret that Little River Canyon National Preserve, which is located atop Lookout Mountain, is one of the South's most beautiful natural spots. This preserve offers many outdoor activities, including swimming, kayaking, hiking, and camping. Little River Canyon and Little River Falls are the two main features of Little River Canyon National Preserve.

6. Madison County Nature Trail — Huntsville
Covering 72 acres, Madison County Nature Trail is a beautiful park that's located atop Green Mountain. It's a great place to spend an afternoon with the entire family.

Covering nearly 10,000 acres, Oak Mountain State Park is Alabama's largest state park. Because of its scenic trails, stunning waterfalls, and beautiful lakes, this state park is the perfect spot for an outdoor enthusiast.
