As the story goes, a teenage girl was on her way home from prom many years ago with her boyfriend. It was raining that night and they got into a fight. She asked to be let out, so he stopped and did as she wanted. Shortly after that, the girl was hit by an 18-wheeler and abandoned at the scene.

Today, she supposedly climbs onto the sides of 18-wheelers as they drive down Highway 5 to see if they're the driver who hit her. Because of this story, the stretch of Highway 5 that goes through Lynn is considered to be one of the most haunted spots in Alabama, thus making the town also one of the most haunted towns in the state.
