What are some of the best waterfalls in Alabama?
We are very lucky to have so many gorgeous cascades in the Cotton State. Many of these waterfalls are only accessible via a lengthy trail, hidden deep within the woods of our many parks and preserves. But we’ve also got some great easy-access waterfalls in Alabama that won’t take all day to reach! For example, the gorgeous 104-foot DeSoto Falls only requires a 100-foot walk down a paved trail to reach. It’s the perfect outing for a muggy day where you don’t feel like taking a lengthy hike.
What are some major rivers in Alabama?
We’re filled with gorgeous lakes and rivers in Alabama! The mighty Tennessee River is a tributary of the Ohio River that flows over 650 miles through the Tennessee River Valley, including through parts of Alabama. It’s a scenic river and the perfect spot for a summer afternoon of fun on the water. We’ve also got some great lakes though, like the massive Lake Guntersville, which is located in the state park that bears its name.
Are there any good water parks in Alabama?
We have some fantastic water parks in Alabama! It’s such a great way to spend a hot summer day. The Cotton State is fantastic, but even the most ardent admirers of our great state have to admit that it can get a little humid. There’s nothing better to cool you off than an afternoon at a water park, no matter how old you are.
